Conflict Minerals Compliance Training Now Available from WeComplyApril 4, 2013 (Mahwah, N.J.) – WeComply, Inc., a leader in web-based ethics and compliance training for corporate employees, has announced its "Conflict Minerals Compliance" course. This course covers the fundamentals of the SEC’s new Conflict Minerals Rule, which requires publicly traded companies that use “conflict minerals” (such as tantalum, tin, tungsten and gold) in their products to make public disclosures of the origin of those minerals to the SEC. The Rule applies to companies in many industries including technology, aerospace, automotive and consumer goods. The intention of the Conflict Minerals Rule is to encourage companies to strengthen their controls over how and where they obtain such minerals so as to reduce funding to armed groups responsible for extreme violence in the Democratic Republic of Congo and adjoining countries. |
